Hey team!
Well… here we are. I’m sitting in the Olympic Village at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Games, and it still feels a bit like a dream.
The past week has honestly felt more like camp than competition. We were able to get on the bobsleigh track our first couple of days in Cortina d'Ampezzo, and since then it’s been a mix of gym sessions, track workouts, and actually soaking in the Olympic experience. I’ve never stayed in an athlete village before or attended an opening ceremony, so that’s been incredibly special. I’ve also had the chance to watch alpine skiing and curling, which has been pretty cool.

It’s a strange feeling being at one of the biggest sporting events in the world and not being fully locked in every second. Since we’re here for three weeks, I’ve had to let go a little of my usual obsession with resting and saving my legs — and instead take in some amazing moments. I’m really glad I did.
Racing kicks off tomorrow with monobob, though I still have a few days before I get to slide. That doesn’t mean I won’t be at the track helping move sleds, polishing runners, and cheering on the team. My time to shine will be February 20th at 10am MST and February 21st at 11am MST.
People have asked how the Winter Olympics compare to the Summer Games, and it’s honestly hard to put into words. This has been my fullest Olympic experience yet, but I’ll always treasure what I learned and felt at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and the growth that came from competing at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Each experience has shaped me differently. Right now, I’m focused on appreciating these memories while preparing to perform and represent Canada as best I can. Funny what a little wisdom and perspective at 32 will do!
I hope everyone back home is doing well and gets a chance to tune in and watch some of the Winter Olympics. Summer sports are impressive… but Winter sports are downright wild.
Talk soon!
