Hello team!
From Whistler, to Italy, to Austria — it’s been a whirlwind, so here’s a little update for you:
Cortina, Italy was absolutely stunning. If you ever get the chance to visit, I highly recommend it. Beautiful town, kind people, and the cheapest cappuccinos I’ve ever had. The Olympic track is still very much under construction, but it was a fun one to learn — and with top speeds around 120 km/hr, it was much easier on the body than Whistler!

I had a “push off” against one of my teammates to determine who would race last weekend. I ended up losing by two hundredths of a second — honestly, I hit the sled too early and didn’t have my best start. So don’t worry… once I dial that in, things are going to get interesting!
Fast forward to this week: I officially got the call-up to race this weekend in Austria! My World Cup bobsleigh debut will be happening this Sunday.
Until then, I’ll be training in the snow, polishing runners for hours at a time, and learning how to put snow chains on my tires for the first time ever. Winter sports really are a different world. I’m still figuring out whether I love bobsleigh or this lifestyle yet, but I can say this for sure — the people are incredible. Being surrounded by such supportive, hard-working teammates reminds me how important the people around you really are.

Also… today is my 32nd birthday! And yes, I fully treat it like an international holiday. So please celebrate appropriately — have some dessert, sleep in, or watch an extra episode of your favourite show on my behalf.
I’ll update you again after the weekend — wish me luck!
